Considering it is the only mode of transportation to Bald Head Island (other than personal boat) you don’t have a lot of say in the matter. Since the State took over management of the ferry boats recently I heard things were starting to improve. This past summer the ferries were always running behind but when you look at the number of passengers they were taking over daily and the amount of luggage they were handling, is no wonder! Hopefully, even with the takeover they can manage to keep the prices down somewhat.
The ferry is a well oiled experience from start to finish. If I had a tip it would be to use bins as much as you can and make them easy to spot in a crowd. Great service!
Very efficient. People get on and off quickly. Checked bags appear within minutes. No baggage fees.
Super ride to Bald Head Island and very fun. Lots of fresh air salt air and photo opportunities!
The view is meh, and the ride is only 20 minutes, but you ride the ferry to get to Bald Head, and it does that very well.
I made it across so I can't ask for much more. It was reasonably fast and left on time which is a big plus in my book. It was fairly clean and kept up with. I wasn't super impressed but I can't say it was bad. Over all it was okay.
