Miscommunication on the weekly rate, but a lot of things happening with staff in the office. Quoted one price on the phone (and paid part with plastic) 2 weeks prior to arrival. Upon arrival that person is AWOL and they wanted more money. Paid balance of the quoted price for the week with cash.
Working CG, so most folks here are gone all day. No bells and whistles. They tried to charge me more than the quoted price for a week (bait and switch), but I didn't knuckle under and paid the quoted price. Dirty looks from the old man but I don't care. I told him to take the quoted price or I am gone. It takes me about half hour and I am rolling. Good Wi-Fi though, so that's an extra!
Lessons learned: don't prepay- just find another CG. Always use cash- if they have your card info, they can come back later and charge you more. I had this happen at another CG and am disputing those charges now. If I had paid cash, I could have avoided this aggravating process.
My children and I stayed here for almost 2 months as we were finding permanent housing. We loved it! The manager and staff were friendly and helpful. We had very nice neighbors. The camper had everything we needed. We were close to the beach and parks. My children said this was the best not vacation ever!!
In many ways the campground is quite nice and the people who manage it are great. Only real downside is very few amenities and limited footprint.
So much more than we expected! We rented a camper, private area, clean bedding, equipped with dishes to use and stove top to cook on, tv, furniture, everything you could need! Definitely better than getting a hotel room and we will be back!
